The European Energy Exchange (EEX) is to carry out the EUA primary auction for European emission rights of the years 2011 and 2012 on behalf of the Dutch Ministry for Infrastructure and Environment. The auction volume amounts to 8 million EUA certificates altogether.
 
This year 2 million certificates will be sold on 27 October and 2 million on 24 November.
 
Non-trading participants have the possibility to make use of the trading membership of ABN AMRO Clearing in order to participate in the Dutch EUA primary auction.

Trading Carbon spot contracts on NASDAQ OMX Commodities Europe

Members, who currently have access to the derivatives carbon contracts on NASDAQ OMX Commodities Europe will be given additional access to the carbon spot contracts including screen and/or voice trading rights as of 19 September 2011. There is no additional fee for access to the spot contracts.
 
Participants who connect through an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) should contact their ISV directly to ensure access to the carbon spot contracts.
 
ABN AMRO Clearing (AAC) gives the possibility to its clients to make use of the AAC trading membership in order to trade the derivatives and spot contracts on this platform.
