World Carbon Fund wins AIF Factor 2020 at the Amsterdam Investor Forum

During ABN AMRO Clearing’s 9th Amsterdam Investor Forum on 5th February 2020, World Carbon Fund was voted the AIF Factor 2020 winner. The fund successfully pitched their investment strategy and convinced a group of over 200 delegates, comprising of investment managers, institutional investors, Hedge funds allocators and high net worth individuals. The winner attracted a most decisive 46.5% of the votes. Runner up was the Systematic Alpha FX Master Fund with a respectable 17.4% of the votes.

‘This is a great testimony to carbon, that has proven to be a powerful policy instrument for fighting climate change’, says Michael Azlen, Chief Executive of Carbon Cap Management LLP.  ‘Carbon has also emerged as an attractive alternative asset class.  Investing globally into liquid and regulated markets presents multiple opportunities to generate positive returns that are uncorrelated to other asset classes’.  Carbon Cap has committed 20% of performance fees to the purchase and cancellation of carbon allowances/offsets in order to have direct climate change impact.

“Five impressive finalists who did extremely well and a convincing winner,” said Delphine Amzallag, Global Director Prime at ABN AMRO Clearing. “I am especially pleased with the quality of the strategies presented and the compelling and enthusiastic pitches.
